JACK STEPS BACK FROM LEADING THE PACK

With the current Cheshire Football League season now concluded, the Club can confirm that Jack Turner has made the decision to step down from all 1st Team management responsibilities with immediate effect.

Having taken over full control of the 1st Team manager at the start of the 2019/2020 campaign, Jack oversaw 22 games in charge (W15, D2, L5, F55, A28) with the team well placed for a title challenge and in a cup semi final, before the season was curtailed due to FA’s response to Covid-19.

However, with an increase in work commitments and the conclusion of academic studies over the next 12 months, Turner felt now was the correct time to take a step back.

“Like anything all good things must come to an end and I feel the time is right for someone else to take on the fantastic opportunity Crewe has to offer.

When I came into Crewe, the focus was to match the extremely high standards off the pitch with performances on it and although this season didn’t get the finish we wanted I have no doubt this group of players would have been right in the mix come the end of the season.

I’d like the thanks Steve for giving me an opportunity and supporting me throughout my entire time at the Club, as well as Maggie, Ray & Nipper who’s support has been invaluable.

Finally, the group of players that are at the Club deserve huge credit and thanks for the commitment they have shown over my time there. I’m sure they will go on to do some great things at the Club”.

Steve Parker, Chairman at Crewe FC had this to say;

“I’ve really enjoyed working with Jack over the past 2 seasons and fully understand where he is currently at.

Whilst its a difficult decision to make, we both feel is in the best interests of the Club at this point, given the commitments he has in his personal life.

He leaves having built and assembled a great group of players, but more importantly, a fantastic group of people. He has instilled a winning culture which has been reflected in the results he’s achieved over his time at the Club and I’m sure we will go on to achieve great things in the years to come because of it. The new manager will inherited a supremely talented group of players.

I’m sure Jack will continue to be supportive of the Club going forward. I’d like to wish him all the very best for whatever is next for him & I’m convinced that he will be back involved with the Club at some point in the future. Once a Blue…”

An announcement of the new 1st Team Management arrangements will be made shortly.
