Griffiths rejoins Crewe FC

Crewe FC are delighted to announce that Peter Griffiths has returned to the Club as Joint First Team Manager, alongside new boss Liam O’Reilly.

Having spent some time previously at the Club prior to spells at North-West Counties, Staffordshire County Senior League and most recently at Nantwich Town, Griffiths will now rejoin senior set-up, having been approached by O’Reilly to join the management team.

O’Reilly has this to say;

Having spoken to Pete at length last week, he definitely ticks all the right boxes and i’m delighted to have him joint the management team for the next season.

He comes with a fountain of knowledge of the game and a real drive and enthusiasm which is what we want.

He has some great managerial experience from his time at NWC level along with the fantastic job he did most recently with Nantwich Town’s U18s last year.

After years of battling with him on the pitch, I’m looking forward to having him alongside me in the dugout. Welcome aboard Pete”.

Griffiths, who’s previous role at the Club was the management of his girls team, prior to the players transition into Crewe Alex Ladies is excited at the prospect of getting going again;

“First of all, it feels great to be coming back to Crewe FC. It’s a fantastically well run club and has very ambitious plans already underway to progress & continue to develop.

There’s a very strong group of players at the Club and a very talented youth set up which we are about to begin to see the fruits of over the next few seasons so it’s an exciting time to be involved.

I’m looking forward to working alongside Liam, getting to meet the squad & getting ready for the new season”.
